The relaxation exercise from unit 2 was less than effective for me. Personally, I prefer the voice of a female when practicing relaxation or meditation exercises.

I also felt that the constant reference to blood was a little distracting rather than relaxing.
I did however enjoy the background music, as it was soft and subtle, so much that you almost forget that it was even playing during the exercise.

I guess that right off the bat, I found it difficult to submerge myself because of the male voice. I found that I focused more on the dislike of his voice than the commands in the exercise.

  1. Walt,

I could not agree with you more on the blood. The male voice didn't bother me as much and I also liked the music.

  2. I think that his voice is a little less desirable for relaxation. I personally do not recommend this as a first time guided meditation but it is a good one for later and more experienced meditation.

As far as the blood thing goes, that does not bother me. One of the first meditations I did when I was very young was tracing my blood flow threw my veins. I found it more fun than relaxing. But it was also comforting and fascinating to discover and practice doing it. However, that was the goal.
